It's funny, whenever sites offer advice on how to help reduce extra costs and lead you to financial solvency and growth one of the first things offered up to the money saving god is the daily coffee fix (even when it's been suggested to be the least of our worries).

When I was living in a major city the thought of giving up my joe was ridiculous.  A coffee was needed for my subway ride, my walk to work, and as a treat on my way home from said job.  Ok, so I'm talking in hyperbole but I definitely drank my share of purchased coffee on a daily.  Now that my life has me mainly in a quiet suburb where the almighty keurig reigns supreme, and the lack of walkability (or any kind of mass transit-ability) makes it difficult to get to my favorite joints, I've begun to experiment with home brews.

Don't get me wrong, the keurig cup is easy and reliable, but when you're looking for iced coffee the keurig leaves you with a watery shadow of what a real cold java should be.  Lucky for me making a delightful pour of iced coffee is super easy (and super affordable), albeit planning intensive on the front end.

What you need:

2/3 C ground coffee
3 C water

Stir together coffee and water...cover and let brew at room temperature overnight, or at least 12 hours.

This makes about 4 cups of iced coffee or 1 if you drink iced coffee in vats like me.  Feel free to multiply the recipe to your needs.  I find it easier to make a bulk batch and keep it in the fridge.  What's so great about this recipe is that you just need to have the thought before you go to bed and you can have amazeballs iced coffee ready in the morning.  I mean, this recipe is so simple you can do this half drunk-- dump and stir my favorite kind of cooking.

Add the dairy you desire and sip with satisfaction
