Thanksgiving-- What to Wear

Am I the only weirdo who is plotting what to wear on thanksgiving?  I should probably confess that I plot what I'm wearing to nearly every event that includes humans I don't see on a regular basis.

Anyway, my thoughts for a Thanksgiving outfit lean towards comfy, festive, and casual.  My family has always been the laid back type when it comes to this holiday, but I can't help but inject a little style into the day.

This tulle skirt is amazing paired with a nautical stripe.  And the puffiness is a perfect foil for that extra slice of ham.

You can't really go wrong with an oversize sweater dress, and sheer tights.  The tights are a gentle reminder to keep yourself in check, and the sweater hides the fact that you probably won't listen.  I'm so feeling the color of this one!

But my heart is telling me that sweatpants are the way to go, and it doesn't get more festive than gold sequins.  Queen B has nailed this look of casual and put together.  Minimal make-up brings down the glam, and the black blazer is the perfect bit of polish to bring it all together.

Living with a Baby

One of my dearest friend's beautiful boy turned 3 weeks old today!  It has been amazing to watch her journey into motherhood and it's had me dreaming about nurseries and my own fantasies of preparing and becoming a mother.  Right now I'm imagining spaces that are creamy with pops of whimsy.  I guess it's the idea of a clean sheet of paper with a lifetime to fill in the colors that has me inspired by these rooms.

Star Styling

I'm not the only girl in the world who wants to look stylish.  The trouble is fitting all that fashion into a small budget.  One of my tricks is to keep my eye out for star moments that are uber chic but also embrace practical items that you can wear everyday and mix with many items in your closet.

Rihanna is most known for  being on the sartorial edge so this buttoned up look was a definite surprise. I love the interplay of neutrals here and that she keeps the accessories restrained.
